The EiSYS-2 system fastens a timber facade substructure straight through the insulation layer: an adjusting screw of 7.2 mm in twelve lengths from 198 to 418 mm, an expansion plug and a driving bit. The screw itself carries the adjustment, so the substructure is aligned without shims or packers. Datasheets downloadable without login. Not sure which length suits your insulation thickness? Adjustable screws for ventilated facades

This category holds the complete system for fixing a timber facade substructure through the insulation: the EiSYS-2 Ø 7.2 mm adjustable screw, the Ø 10 × 130 mm expansion plug for masonry or concrete, and the driver bit. The manufacturer intends the system for vertical and horizontal battens, with pressure-resistant and non-pressure-resistant insulation from 60 to 280 mm. Instead of a metal bracket, the screw shank passes through the insulation - the thermal bridge stays point-like and must be included in the wall calculation.

Adjustable vs spacer screw - levelling battens without packers

A spacer screw holds a fixed gap. An adjustable screw lets you change that gap after anchoring: the freely rotating sleeve at the head moves the batten forward or back. Facade battens are levelled across the whole wall without wedges or plywood packers, regardless of deviations in the masonry.

What to order for the complete system

  • EiSYS-2 adjustable screw - Ø 7.2 mm, twelve lengths from 198 to 418 mm, pack of 50, one length per pack.
  • EiSYS-2 expansion plug - Ø 10 × 130 mm, article number 945404, one per screw in masonry or concrete.
  • EiSYS-2 driver bit - 10 × 50 mm, article number 945936. It combines a TX 30 drive with a hexagon for the adjusting sleeve - a standard bit drives the screw but cannot set the batten distance.

Which insulation thickness - length table

For each length the manufacturer gives the maximum insulation thickness with a 40 mm batten. The screw is always 138 mm longer than the insulation; do not add your own allowance, the sleeve sets the batten distance.

What fixes the cladding itself?

EiSYS-2 fixes the substructure. The cladding board is screwed to that substructure with a separate fastener, and here appearance and timber species decide:

  • Hobotec - Ø 3.2 mm, lengths 35-60 mm, TX 10 drive, stainless steel, black ornamental head - per its data sheet for cover strips, not facade boards.
  • Hapatec black - Ø 4.0-5.0 mm, lengths 35-100 mm, hardened stainless steel.

Blue-Power is not a cladding fastener. The manufacturer describes it as a system for fixing a timber load-bearing substructure to concrete or masonry, at a distance: Ø 7.4 mm, lengths 180-500 mm, TX 40 drive, pack of 100. Used over facade insulation, the insulating material takes part of the shear forces and must therefore have a compressive strength of at least 50 kPa.

With oak, larch and thermally modified timber, galvanised steel is ruled out by the tannins - see the guide on black stains after galvanising. Note: for tannin-rich species the manufacturer also excludes the hardened stainless steel of the Hapatec („cumaru, oak, merbau, robinia etc.”), while rating it perfectly adequate for Siberian larch - write to us and we will pick the class. The choice between A2 and A4 on a facade is settled in the guide A2 or A4. For load-bearing connections, see construction screws.
