EiSYS-2 façade/adjusting screw

EiSYS-2 is an adjusting screw for fixing ventilated facades: the timber battens of the cladding are screwed straight through the insulation layer, with no steel console. A Ø 7.2 mm shank runs through the mineral wool or the polystyrene instead of a metal bracket over the full depth of the insulation, so there are fewer point thermal bridges.

The length follows the insulation thickness and the manufacturer states it directly: 198 mm for 60 mm of insulation, 218 for 80, 238 for 100, 258 for 120, 278 for 140, 298 for 160, 318 for 180, 338 for 200, 358 for 220, 378 for 240, 398 for 260 and 418 mm for 280 mm. One rule holds across the whole ladder with no exception: screw length is insulation thickness plus 138 mm for the batten and the anchoring.

The word „adjusting” comes from the freely rotating threaded sleeve under the head. The distance from batten to wall is set after driving, so the facade plane is levelled across the whole elevation instead of shimming under every batten. The more uneven the wall, the bigger the difference in working time.

The set is three items, not one, and this is the most common ordering mistake. Expansion plug 10 x 130 mm (no. 945404) - one per screw, because that is what the screw anchors into. TX 30 driver bit (no. 945936) - a standard bit does not guide the screw at full extension, it jumps out of the recess and rounds it out.

EiSYS-2 fixes the battens, not the cladding. The cladding board is fixed to the battens with a separate fastener: on dark timber with the Hapatec and its black decorative head, and trim or cover battens with the Hobotec.
