Eurotec BASE pedestals for timber and aluminium substructures: four sizes covering 25 to 210 mm of adjustment - BASE S 25-40 mm, M 35-60 mm, L 60-110 mm and XL 110-210 mm. For aluminium profiles with the Click system there are 32, 40 and 60 mm adapters. Datasheets downloadable without login. Not sure which size suits your build-up height? We check the choice with a technical advisor with 20 years of experience.

Which BASE size for which height?
All four have the same capacity of 2.2 kN and differ only in adjustment range. The height is measured from the substrate to the underside of the joist.
- BASE S - 25-40 mm, art. 100000. A flat terrace, close to the ground.
- BASE M - 35-60 mm, art. 100001. The most frequently ordered size.
- BASE L - 60-110 mm, art. 100002. Levelling out larger irregularities, bridging services.
- BASE XL - 110-210 mm, art. 100003. A terrace over a slab or over a pronounced fall in the ground.
Why do the ranges overlap?
Because you are measuring ground, not a workbench. The overlap between S and M (35-40 mm) and between M and L (60 mm) gives you room for irregularities noticed after the fact, and for the substrate sitting differently under one corner of the terrace than under another. If the calculated height falls exactly on the boundary between two sizes, take the larger one - you can always wind adjustment down, but you cannot wind it beyond the range.
Timber joist or aluminium profile?
The pedestal itself sets the height; what sits on it is decided by the adapter - and what decides is the material of the substructure, not its width.
- Timber joist - the BASE L-adapter, supplied with the BASE pedestal as standard. There is nothing to buy separately.
- BASE adapter 32 - art. 100004, for the EVO Light aluminium system profile.
- BASE adapter 40 - art. 100005, for the Eveco aluminium system profile.
- BASE adapter 60 - art. 100006, for the EVO and EVO Slim profiles and the HKP deck-support profile.
Adapters 32, 40 and 60 are components of the aluminium Click system - they are not heads for a timber joist. With a timber substructure the BASE L-adapter leads, and the aluminium adapters are bought only when you build on a system profile.
When is BASE not enough?
Under heavy stone and ceramic slabs, 2.2 kN per pedestal is sometimes too little - then the GIANT series at 22.0 kN is the right one. If you need a modular system with extension rings, a self-levelling head or a very low build-up from 10 mm, PROFI-LINE is the answer. A comparison of all three series is in the parent category, adjustable pedestals.
What else will you need?
The pedestals themselves are sold per piece, so the quantity follows from joist spacing and terrace length; for the adapters, read the pack size from the product page. For screwing the boards to the joist, see decking screws, and with oak, larch and thermowood it is worth reading first why zinc leaves black stains on them.
