Which series should you choose?

The three series differ in load capacity and adjustment range, not in “quality”. The choice starts with what is going on top and how high.

  • BASE - capacity 2.2 kN, four sizes covering 25-210 mm. Timber and aluminium substructures, the ordinary domestic terrace.
  • PROFI-LINE - capacity 8.0 kN (PRO XXS 4.0 kN), range from 10 to 168 mm. A modular system with rings and three adapter types; the SL version has a self-levelling head.
  • GIANT - capacity 22.0 kN, range 40-220 mm. Single-point support for heavy, large-format stone and ceramic slabs.

The capacities quoted are recommended values: at those loads the pedestal deflects by about 2 mm, and the load that would actually break it is several times higher.

How do you compensate for a sloping base?

A terrace needs a 1-2% fall for drainage, and the substrate rarely has exactly that. There are two routes. The first is Nivello 2.0 - a compensating shim for a 0.5-10% fall, placed under the pedestal. The second is a pedestal with a self-levelling SL head, which takes out inclinations up to 8% steplessly, with no extra part at all.

Boards or slabs - what decides the adapter?

The pedestal sets the height. What sits on it is decided by the adapter:

  • BASE adapters 32, 40 and 60 - for the aluminium system profiles (EVO Light, Eveco, EVO/EVO Slim and HKP). With a timber joist the BASE L-adapter leads, supplied with the pedestal as standard.
  • L-adapter - support for a joist at the edge of the terrace, for timber and aluminium constructions.
  • Stone slab adapter - for stone and concrete slabs.
  • Click adapters 40 and 60 - quick clipping of system aluminium profiles; for PRO S to XL only.

When do you need a ground anchor?

The FLEXI ground anchor acts as a foundation for low terraces and allows the structure to be built without excavation and without concrete. It is driven into loose ground with a hammer, into a lawn for instance, and carries the pedestal on top, so the pedestal does not sink into the substrate. Two limits are worth knowing before ordering: the anchor works with Profi-Line pedestals only, and on hard ground it can deform, because it has no surface intended to be struck.

What if the slabs are already laid?

The GIANT adjusting key reaches through the joint between slabs and turns the spindle of the pedestal, so correcting the height does not mean lifting the surface. One tool per site is enough. Without it, an adjustment after laying means taking the terrace apart.

Unit of sale and article numbers

The pedestals themselves are sold per piece - a deliberate decision, not an oversight. For accessories (adapters, rings, anchor, key), read the pack size from the product page: it is in the selector and in the article table, together with the Eurotec article number and EAN. The shop search accepts both. For screwing the boards down to the joists, see decking screws.
