Hobotec ornamental head, hardened stainless steel, black

Hobotec black is a decorative head screw for thin finishing parts: cover battens on timber cladding, battens in decking work and fences. The hardened black stainless steel keeps the head from catching the light, so the finishing line stays even instead of breaking into a row of bright dots.

Four lengths: 3.2 x 35, 40, 50 and 60 mm, all with a TX 10 drive. Ø 3.2 mm is the thinnest screw in this category, and that is where its range of use comes from - it goes into a batten that a heavier fastener would split.

The new thread form and the self-drilling tip are there so the part does not split and the screw seats cleanly, at high pull-out values. Particularly suited to brittle timber. Not suitable for species high in tannins such as cumaru, oak, merbau and robinia.

Hobotec does not fix the load-carrying cladding. The cladding board is fixed with the heavier Hapatec, and the battens are fixed to the wall through the insulation with the EiSYS-2 adjusting screw. In one elevation those are three different items, each with its own job.
