Eurotec GIANT pedestals for single-point support of heavy elements: GIANT S 40-55 mm, M 55-85 mm, L 80-130 mm and XL 130-220 mm, while the extension ring lifts the range by a further 100-170 mm. The adjusting key lets you correct the height once the slabs are already laid - it reaches between them without opening the terrace. Datasheets downloadable without login. What does 22 kN of capacity buy you?
Ten times what the BASE series offers. GIANT was designed for single-point support of heavy, large-format stone and ceramic slabs - that is, where each corner of a slab stands on one pedestal and carries a quarter of its weight plus the imposed load. The figure quoted is a recommended value: at that load the pedestal deflects by about 2 mm, and the load that would actually break it is several times higher.
A pad that damps footfall noise is fitted in the pedestal at the factory - under stone and ceramic surfaces you notice it immediately.
Which size for which height?
- GIANT S - 40-55 mm, art. 100010.
- GIANT M - 55-85 mm, art. 100011.
- GIANT L - 80-130 mm, art. 100012.
- GIANT XL - 130-220 mm, art. 100013.
All four adjust steplessly and all four carry 22.0 kN.
The extension ring - watch the capacity
The GIANT extension ring (art. 100015) raises the installed height by a further 100-170 mm, so together with the XL you can go well beyond 220 mm. There is one thing to know before you specify it, though: installed with the ring, capacity drops from 22 kN to 19 kN per pedestal. If the calculation is tight, that is not a catalogue detail but a changed input value.
How do you correct the height after laying?
The GIANT adjusting key (art. 100014) reaches through the joint between slabs and turns the spindle of the pedestal. The correction needs no lifting of the surface, and one tool per site is enough. Without it, an adjustment after laying means taking the terrace apart - which is why the manufacturer points to the key directly on the GIANT datasheets.
When is GIANT overkill?
On an ordinary board terrace on timber joists, 22 kN is a figure nobody will use, and the pedestal is bigger and dearer. For that kind of build-up, BASE (2.2 kN) or PROFI-LINE (8.0 kN) is the answer. PROFI-LINE additionally offers a modular system with rings, three adapter types and a version with a self-levelling head. The comparison of the series is in the parent category, adjustable pedestals.
Unit of sale
The GIANT pedestals themselves go per piece. The ring and the key are accessories - read their pack size from the product page, in the selector and in the article table. The Eurotec article number and EAN are in the same table, and the shop search accepts both.
