Topduo - above-rafter insulation screw Ø 8 mm.
Topduo is a timber construction screw intended for every above-rafter insulation system: it passes through counter batten and insulation layer and anchors in the rafter. Its high withdrawal resistance also suits many other timber connections.
Application
Fixing above-rafter insulation and counter battens on pitched roofs, roof build-ups with mineral wool and PIR boards, other timber connections requiring deep embedment.

Screw point
Reduced driving torque, reduced splitting effect and better bite - this matters at lengths above 300 mm, where an ordinary screw starts to wander off axis.
Choosing the length
Length follows from counter batten plus insulation plus the required embedment in the rafter. Driving angle and spacings depend on roof loading - all in ETA-11/0024 and the product datasheet. This is where it is easiest to be one size out.
